In the early 1990's Angel
Studios worked on a series of pioneering 3D
real-time interactive applications for companies like Disney
Imagineering, Silicon Graphics, and Sega GameWorks. By the
mid 1990's the company transitioned to developing video games
exclusively, working
with a wide range of publishers—Rockstar Games, Nintendo,
Microsoft, SEGA, Atari (Infogrames) and Midway.
We were fortunate to work directly with Nintendo
of Japan and Shigeru Miyamoto for over 5 years—an
experience very
influential in shaping my approach to interactive design.
As Angel Studios grew into the largest independent game
developer in the US in 2002, my role was executive creative direction—overseeing
the activity of 65 artists, animators and Art Directors, pitching publishers, representing creative areas in contract
negotiations, and promoting the company's creative standards.
Angel Studios was purchased by
Take2 Interactive (parent company
of Rockstar Games)
in November 2002, and is now known as
Rockstar San Diego.
Below are some of Angel Studios published console and PC game titles developed between
1992 and 2002. |
